Best Time to Visit charleston

Charleston, South Carolina is a stunning city with plenty of things to see and do. The best time to visit Charleston, in terms of weather, is from late March to May, as well as from September to November. During these months, the temperatures are mild, and there’s ample sunshine, making it an excellent time to explore the city.

Spring is an inviting time of the year to enjoy the outdoors, as the city awakens from winter’s slumber. The azaleas and dogwood trees in bloom and a soft haze that seems to hug everything make the city feel magical. The locals welcome Spring with keen anticipation as it is a time to gather on the beaches and experience the bounty of sunshine. This season is my personal favorite time to visit as the city’s tourism numbers are rising, so you can experience great weather and more minor crowds.

In summer, the temperatures are high, averaging around the mid-80s to 90s, and the humidity levels make walking around the city quite uncomfortable. However, during the summer months, the city experiences various festivals and events such as the Spoleto Festival USA, which is a cultural event that features musical, visual and theatrical arts. These events attract tourists from all over the world, but if you dislike the heat, summer might not be the best time for you to visit.

If you’re planning a visit in fall, from September to November, you’ll experience cool temperatures, fewer tourists, and stunning foliage. The average temperatures during this season are in the mid-60s to 80s, and you can finally relax with a hot cup of coffee in the morning and a warm jacket in the evening.

Summing it up, the best time to visit Charleston is during the Spring (late March to May) and Autumn (September to November) seasons. However, you can visit during the summer if you’re keen on experiencing the city’s many festivals and events despite the humidity levels and crowds.
